Why and what now?

Full focus on HelloID

Why this change?

Our legacy products UMRA, PSM, IAM, and SSRPM have supported organizations with user and authorization management for many years. However, due to technological advances and changing requirements, we have decided to phase out these products and direct our full focus to HelloID.

  • Aging technology: SSRPM, UMRA, and PSM are more than 20 years old, and IAM is almost 10 years old. Maintaining and extending these products is becoming increasingly complex, expensive, and time-consuming.

  • Focus on innovation: HelloID is a future-proof IAM/IGA platform that meets the latest IT requirements, provides more functionality, and receives monthly updates.

  • Security: Our modern solution, HelloID, provides enhanced security and meets the most recent compliance requirements.

We will continue to support you

What does this mean for you?

We understand that this may impact your organization. That is why we provide several options and support to help you during this transition:

  1. Migration to HelloID: Take advantage of a modern and user-friendly IAM/IGA platform that is designed to simplify identity and access management.

  2. Extended Support: If a direct migration is not feasible, we will continue to resolve critical issues through Extended Support until the end of 2028 (expected).

  3. Switch to SSPR: Our partners can guide you through a smooth transition from SSRPM to Microsoft Entra SSPR.

Extended Support

With Extended Support, we provide limited support after 2026 to keep your systems secure and operational while you develop a long-term strategy.

Extended Support includes:

  • Security patches: Support for urgent security issues.

  • Operational continuity: Targeted assistance to resolve disruptions and perform simple changes.

  • Additional time for planning: More room to implement a future-proof solution.

Support up to Windows Server 2025 and Windows 11

During the Extended Support period we provide support on the currently available Windows platforms. Our products UMRA, IAM, and SSRPM remain fully supported up to a maximum of Windows Server 2025.

In addition, the SSRPM Client remains supported on Windows 11, including the integration with the Windows Credential Provider.

After these versions, newer Windows platforms will no longer be officially supported within the Extended Support program.

How does HelloID support your organization?

HelloID provides a modern, secure, and user-friendly solution for identity and access management:

  • Ease of use: Intuitive interface that streamlines processes and increases self-service.

  • Security: Complies with the latest compliance and security standards.

  • Integration: Easy to connect with existing systems such as HR and IT platforms.

  • Future readiness: Continuously enhanced with monthly updates.

Important information about iOS apps

In addition to the general EOL process, we would also like to inform you about the phase-out of the iOS apps “HelloID | Tools4ever” and “HelloID | Multiuser”. Below you will find the key dates and implications.

As of December 1, 2025

  • Apps will be hidden in the App Store

  • Existing users retain access

  • Reinstallation available for previous users

As of March 1, 2026

  • Apps will be fully removed and phased out

  • No longer available, including for existing users

Good to know: the HelloID Authenticator app will remain available and is not affected by this change.

Impact on SSO on iOS

Because plug-in apps are being discontinued, we advise organizations to move to modern authentication protocols such as SAML, OIDC, or WS-Fed. These protocols are fully supported and work seamlessly through mobile browsers such as Safari.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Will the software stop working after the End of Life (EOL) date?

No, the software will not stop working after the EOL date. Because it concerns on-premises software, it will remain functional on your own infrastructure. However, after the End of Support date (December 31, 2026) you will no longer receive standard technical support or updates.

What is the difference between End of Support and Extended Support?

At End of Support (December 31, 2026), we stop providing standard technical support. With Extended Support (through the end of 2028), for an additional fee we provide a longer period of support for disruptions, simple changes, and critical security issues.

What support does Extended Support provide and what are the limitations?

Extended Support provides limited support and is focused on maintaining operational continuity during the transition to a long-term solution. With Extended Support, we ensure we retain sufficient expertise to assist customers with disruptions, simple changes, and critical security issues. Complex changes, enhancements, and migrations are assessed per request for feasibility and options. After the End of Extended Support date, we no longer provide support, including for security issues.

How long does a migration to HelloID take?

The duration of a migration to HelloID depends on the complexity of your current implementation, and the desired features and integrations. To make a realistic time estimate, we recommend requesting a no-obligation impact assessment. During this assessment, we review your current setup and create a tailored plan, including a detailed timeline and step-by-step approach. Our consultants ensure that the migration is executed efficiently and without disruption, aligned to your organization’s needs. Request an impact assessment via our form.

Can I switch to HelloID immediately?

That depends on your specific situation. A free and no-obligation impact assessment gives you clear insight into what the move to HelloID means for your organization. During this assessment, we evaluate how your current UMRA/IAM environment is structured and which features can be transferred to HelloID immediately. We also review possible adjustments and provide advice based on experience with more than 650 successful migrations. You will also receive practical recommendations and a strategic plan with concrete steps and a realistic timeline for a smooth transition. The impact assessment helps you minimize risks by preparing any migration carefully.

What are the costs for moving to HelloID?

The costs for moving to HelloID consist of two components: software licenses, and the migration through consulting services. HelloID is a SaaS solution with a pay-as-you-go model, while UMRA and IAM were based on a perpetual license. We offer a trade-in arrangement where the amount of UMRA/IAM license costs is credited toward your HelloID subscription. This helps make the transition more attractive financially, although the pricing model can differ due to the SaaS structure of HelloID.

In addition, costs include migration and consulting. These depend on the complexity of your current environment, such as transferring features, configuration, and any required adjustments. Our consultants assist you and ensure a smooth and efficient transition process.

To provide an accurate cost estimate, we recommend requesting an impact assessment. This gives you a clear overview of both software and license costs and the expected migration costs. Request an impact assessment now via our form.

Can I request a new impact assessment if I already had one before?

Yes, you can certainly request a new impact assessment, even if you have had one in the past. HelloID is continuously evolving and may offer new features or solutions that remove previous limitations. In addition, a new assessment provides the opportunity to revisit your current requirements and to review how these align with HelloID’s current capabilities.

During the impact assessment, we compare your previous assessment with HelloID’s current features and review whether earlier technical limitations have been resolved. We also discuss your current needs and goals to create a new plan that fits your organization. Request a new impact assessment easily via our form. Our team is happy to help.
