Tools4ever implements sustainable environmental management

6 February 2024

Tools4ever, the specialist in Identity Governance & Administration, has implemented an ISO 14001-based environmental management system. This ensures the company always complies with applicable environmental legislation. The company also continually improves its operations to minimize environmental impact and go beyond what environmental regulations require. Tools4ever expects to receive the corresponding ISO 14001 certificate in April.

ISO 14001 is the internationally accepted standard for environmental management systems. Such a system is used to develop environmental policies that fit the organization and to ensure their execution. Key characteristics include placing environmental management at the executive level, giving risk management structural attention, and continuously driving improvements through a Plan-Do-Check-Act cycle.

George Bakker (Chief Operating Officer, Tools4ever) says:

“Corporate social responsibility is a core principle for us. In environmental management, we want to move from merely following the rules to proactively improving ourselves. There have always been numerous initiatives within Tools4ever to do things better, smarter, and more sustainably, but with an ISO 14001 management system we can target those efforts much more effectively. Environmental policy is now an executive topic, it is reported on regularly, and active management ensures that the most important focus and improvement areas receive priority.

An environmentally friendly and sustainable way of working truly lives within our company. For example, we give hardware such as laptops and phones a second life wherever possible. Employees can purchase used devices, we sell them to third parties, or we recycle the components. We also continue to reduce office energy consumption.”

Environmental management is also a priority for customers and partners, Tools4ever notes. With a transparent environmental approach, all stakeholders can see how specific topics are addressed. Parties can also support each other on environmental issues. Within Tools4ever the management system is now being rolled out further, so that after our internal audits we can prepare for final certification.
