Sharepoint DMS and UMRA
Connecting User Account Management and RBAC
with SharePoint DMS
SharePoint DMS software ensures that employees have access to the correct information in various ways. The information (documents) that employees may view or modify depends on their organizational role (RBAC). For example, a member of the HR department will require access to performance review details with the exception of the manager and employee involved. All other members of the organization should be strictly barred from having access to this information.
User Management Resource Administrator (UMRA) offers a fully-featured link with SharePoint DMS, ensuring a completely automated creation and management of login credentials (user name/password). When a new employee starts at the company, an account is automatically created in SharePoint DMS, and UMRA will assign all the relevant attributes (name, location, phone number etc.). When an employee leaves the organization, the corresponding user account will automatically be shut down in SharePoint DMS according to predefined rules (disable, migrate etc.).
In addition to user account management, the link with UMRA regulates the user access privileges of the employee in SharePoint DMS. It determines these privileges on the basis of the role/department associated with the employee. UMRA offers various alternatives for scenarios in which this information is not fully available (data enrichment by a helpdesk agent, manager or the employee proper).
