AD Users & Computer Accounts Cleaner (ADUCAC)
Tracks all Inactive Active Directory User Accounts and Inactive Computer Accounts
Active Directory Users & Computer Accounts Cleaner (ADUCAC) by Tools4ever is an application allowing administrators to keep the Active Directory free of inactive user and inactive computer accounts. ADUCAC traces inactive user and computer accounts inside the Active Directory environment based on the last logon date. After scanning all domain controllers in the network, ADUCAC offers administrators the ability to disable or enable selected inactive accounts or migrate them to another organizational unit (OU).
ADUCAC is an extremely user-friendly solution and deploys very quickly. With a simple click of a mouse, users can select computers and components in the Active Directory and run a scan.
Trace Inactive User and Inactive Computer Accounts
When a new employee enters service, the organization needs to create a user account to grant the new worker access to the company network. In some cases, requests are submitted too late or contain incomplete information, requiring user account changes. Communication and modification occurs until the correct user account information is available and the employee is able to perform his or her duties. When an employee leaves the company, the IT department is often not notified in a timely fashion, if at all.
Because the IT department is not notified, the user account will remain active, with all the possible consequences. The former employee will potentially continue to have remote access to the organization’s critical network assets.
Using ADUCAC, the IT department can easily trace inactive user accounts and disable them with a simple mouse click to prevent unauthorized network access.
Last Logon Date
Only one domain controller within a domain will contain the most recent logon date for a user or computer account. ADUCAC will scan all domain controllers simultaneously to determine the last logon date.
Enabling, Disabling and Removing User or Computer Accounts
ADUCAC offers the ability to disable accounts that have not been used for a long time, as well as to reactivate accounts. Accounts that are no longer used can be migrated to another organizational unit (OU) or removed.
Export Scanning Results
Users can export the results of the ADUCAC scan to a text file.
Scheduled Scans
If a scan places a high burden on the network performance, it can be scheduled to be performed at a predefined time, e.g. at night.
Always-up-to-date and Secure
Network and systems administrators have continuous access to an up-to-date status overview for user and computer accounts in the Active Directory. After a clean-up, inactive user and computer accounts will no longer impose a burden on the capacity and performance of the Active Directory and unauthorized logins are prevented.
Increased Productivity
Network administrators can easily identify inactive users and disable, enable or migrate accounts with a simple mouse click. There is no need to use command line tools or scripts. This will reduce the number of manual tasks and consequently increase IT department productivity.
Compliance
Various laws and regulations require that only authorized users have access to the network and that inactive accounts must be disabled or removed within a short time frame. ADUCAC enables the organization to meet these requirements.
