07-09-2004
Delegation. Fix. When managing services from the delegation
client, and a machine did have a very large numeber of services, the UM
delegation client reported an error when collecting them. This has been
fixed.(1859,06-10-2004)
Run command line. Modification: when removing users, the
command line specified is now run before any other operation on the user,
instead of after the deletion. This allows the run command to access the
user data before it potentially deleted by the remove operation.(1859,06-10-2004)
General. Fix. When using the "search OU"
button to search for w2000 orginazational units (in configure /setup domains),
a rare error situation was not properly handled, and caused the application
to hang. This has been fixed.(1861,07-09-2004)

such files, and these are now correctly copied when home directories are
moved (1843).

Import.
Fix. Value conversion table. If the number of entries in the value conversion
table for a single variable was very large, then after a certain number
of entries (in the order of 150, depending on size of each entry), the
rest of the entries in the table where discarded. The the maximum number

file, the dropdownbox now correctly list the correct names for the variables
that refer directly to the import fields. The names of these variables
have been changed since build 1830 to prevent confusion with predefined
variables of the same name, but the list box showed still the old names.
Also, for backwards compatability, the default old names of these variables
are also accepted again (%f1%, %f2%, etc). (1836, 10-10-2002)
Browsing for
w2k OU's. Fix. In some circumstances,
when the workstation running UserManagmeNT was is a different domain as
the domain of the w2k account running the application, browsing for w2k
domains succeeded, but browsing for OU's failed in the configure/setup
domain tab. This has been solved. (1835, 10-08-2002)

Import: Fix. If the user renamed the import field
names (f1,f2,f3 etc). a name conflict could arise between the modified
name of the import field and predefined variables used in UM import. This
is solved. As a consequense, if the import field is used as a variable
it should from now on be referenced as %IMPORTFIELD_<variable name>%.
Thus if a import field is renamed to eg "username", it should
be referenced as %IMPORTFIELD_USERNAME% (1830, 16-09-2002)
Import: New feature added: When creating and/or
updating a user, and a template is specified, the user's primary group
is taken from the specification in the template if specified, instead

set. In previous release an error occurred when UserManagemeNT tried to
delete the file or directory.
Version 3.3, Build 1702, Release date 5-28-1999

reports for more information.
Version 3.3, Build 1701, Release date 5-21-1999
Search permissions:
Support search permissions functionality. You can now find the permissions
granted to specified users on files and directories. See Search
Permissions for more information.
Version 3.2, Build 1700, Release date 5-7-1999
Create
user: Two options to control the Create
user tab are added. When these options are enabled, you must select
a user template and a home server when a user is created. See Configure
task: Create user for more information.
Remove
user: A problem causing the error "Error 5, access denied"
when removing home directories is fixed. The problem is fixed by using
the "Backup" and "Restore" privileges granted to the
logged on user.
Remove
user: When Exchange mailboxes are deleted, but no Exchange recipient
container is specified, UserManagemeNT will prompt you to do so automatically.
General:
Several bugs that occurred using the keyword %DEPARTMENT% have been fixed.
The keyword is now supported when importing users and the import file
contains a specification of the field "Department" (1), or the
value is obtained through the general template (2), or when the value
is used with the Move users’ recourses
operation (3).
General:
When multiple tasks are initiated, all tasks will be executed properly.
In previous versions of UserManagemeNT, is was possible that a single
or several tasks were not executed. When the user terminated the UserManagemeNT
application, a message showed that these tasks were still pending. Unfortunately,
they were never executed.
Exchange:
When configuring attributes in user templates for Exchange mailboxes,
new attributes are inserted at the end of the attribute list, not at the
beginning.
Exchange:
A debug option is implemented: If UserManagemeNT is started with the /DEBUG
option in the command line, the main log tab shows all recipients and
associated Windows NT accounts when recipient containers are evaluated.
Permissions:
The permission specification No Access
is now used in the correct order in all cases. (In Access Control Lists
for home directories and files, this permission cannot be preceded by
permission granting access. This was not always the case with previous
versions of UserManagemeNT).
- WWW-update:
Periodically, UserManagemeNT will contact the WWW-site http://www.tools4ever.com
to check if a new version is available. See WWW
update information for more information.
Version 3.1, Build 1698, Release date 4-16-1999
New:
The main tab Remove user
is implemented. With Remove user you can
remove user accounts, home directories, global group membership and Exchange
mailboxes.
Move:
The keywords %DEPARTMENT%, %OU%, and %OU_LOCATION% are interpreted correctly
when these keywords are used for instance in the description of a user.
Member
servers: UserManagemeNT support the specification of server related
objects. For instance when you want to specify a permission entry for
a local group on a member server (non domain controller), this group can
be specified as \\ServerName\LocalGroupName. These server related objects
must be specified by using the servername starting with a double backslash
(\\ServerName).
Username
generation: When "Custom username generation" is used,
and the "Username format string" ended with %, which is not
a correct specification, the UserManagemeNT application ended in an endless
loop when a name was made unique. This is fixed.
Import:
The option "Password expired", specified as "Yes"
or "No" in the import file or obtained from the General settings
is now interpreted correctly.
Import:
The keywords %FIRST_NAME%, %INITIALS% and %LAST_NAME% can now be used
if these are not used to compose the username itself. This is for instance
the case, if the username is specified directly in the import file.
General:
The number of supported user templates is increased. In previous versions
the number of templates was restricted to about 30 templates, depending
on the name of the profile and associated template filenames. This is
increased to 600 user templates.
- Exchange:
UserManagemeNT can now check if a mailbox with the same name already exists
when you want to create a new mailbox. See Configure
task: Exchange for more information.
Version 3.0, Build 1694, Release date 2-26-1999
Import:
The keywords %DEPARTMENT%, %OU%, and %OU_LOCATION% are supported when
these keywords are specified in import files.
General:
The name of the domain controller in a one-server-network is now correct.
- General:
The license information displayed in the main window is correct. If you
purchased the Professional and Import version, the main window license
information contained the word Professional only.
Version 3.0, Build 1693, Release date 2-25-1999
New:
The main tab Move users’ resources
is implemented. With Move users’ resources
you can move home directories, change global group membership and so on.
Keywords:
The support of keywords is extended.
You can specify the number of characters that must be copied (from the
value replacing the keyword) into the destination character string.
Exchange:
New Exchange mailboxes are correctly added to Exchange distribution
lists. In previous release a problem occurred when the new mailbox and
the distribution lists did not belong to the same Exchange container.
Exchange:
Exchange attributes can be imported directly from the import file into
the Exchange directory. See Importing
Exchange attributes for more information.
Import:
The export file, generated while you are importing data, can contain
the assigned fields and the values from the import file.
Import:
With UserManagemeNT Import, the contents of the field rest-of-line
shown in the import view was not correct if the previous field contents
was enclosed in quotes ("). This is fixed and had no influence on
the import process itself.
Import:
When tabs are used in the import file, multiple consecutive tabs
(empty fields) are now correctly interpreted.
Import:
You can specify the name of the unit of a user. The is used to specify
the global groups of which the user must become member.
- Group: When
the operation to add a user is to a global group fails when the user is
already a member of the group, no error message is generated.
