Password Migration Overview

Password migration is one of the most critical parts of the entire migration project. This wizard allows you to successfully transfer passwords between user accounts in any valid Windows NT4 / Windows 2000 Active Directory domain. Passwords can be copied from Windows NT4 to Windows 2000, Windows NT4 to Windows NT4, Windows 2000 to Windows 2000 and Windows 2000 to Windows NT4.

To use this wizard, both the source and the target have to exist. To migrate Windows NT4 user accounts to Windows 2000 Active Directory, Tools4ever recommends using the Active Directory Migration Tool, provided by Microsoft.

If you have applied a prefix or a suffix to the Windows 2000 user account while using the Active Directory Migration Tool, you have to specify the same prefix or suffix to match both accounts.
