We use User Management Resource Administrator daily to add and remove users from Active Directory and to sync our address book with an excel document for users to download. The program saves us a fair share of time and the entire process is streamlined and efficient.

Ysgol Gyfun Rhydywaun is a school located in South Wales, UK with over 900 pupils. As network manager and IT teacher at the school, with very little spare time, I am constantly interrupted by pupils who have forgotten their password and require it to be reset. I had been looking for some time for a tool which would allow me to delegate the task of resetting passwords to other teachers. The result of...

Forms & Delegation Tour - Step 1/6

Install the UMRA Delegation service on your local computer

Welcome to the User Management Resource Administrator Forms & Delegation
product tour. This tour will guide you through the process of configuring
a sample forms project to match your environment, publish it on the delegation
service and run it in the Windows Forms client.
The first step is to install a Delegation service on your
local computer. This service will be used for project
storage
, execution and delegated
user authentication
. When finished, a Windows Forms client
can connect to this service using normal user priviliges, but through the
delegation service it can execute tasks that would require administrative
priviliges. Read
more about the architecture
.

The above screenshot shows the User Management Resource Administrator application
started on the Windows desktop. Right-click on the Server
projects
branch
in the Projects bar, and select "Setup UMRA service...".

Click Next to install a new delegation service.

Use the "Use local computer" button to automatically
specify your local computer in the "Server name:" field. Click Next to continue.

Click Next to confirm the current TCP/IP port suggestion. The Forms client
is pre-set to connect to this port.

Click Next to confirm the current folder suggestion. This
folder will be used for all files and projects related to the UMRA delegation
service. The path will be local to the computer you selected in the 2nd step
of this service installation wizard.

Click Next to confirm the service user account suggestion.
The service installation wizard automatically resolves the domain where your
computer resides and suggests a name for a new user account.

Click Finish to confirm the service account group membership
suggestion. The UMRA delegation service requires administrative priviliges
in the domain to successfully manage the Active Directory and all associated
resources such as Exchange mailboxes, home directories and more. After this
step, the service will be installed and started.

The service installation is now complete. As you can see, the service has
been installed on a computer called "ORION". The computer icon is blue, which
means the service on this computer is running and is ready for project storage
and execution.
