I have been using Usermanagement to manage a school district students for 3 1/2 years. It has made my job so much easier. Also Tom Mowatt has been a tremendous help. Greg Wilson Snoqualmie Valley School District

We've used UMRA's COM object to script our most common user functions through our intranet site, allowing users to update their passwords and obtain network file shares without any administrator intervention. Everyone's lives are easier as a result!

User Management Resource Administrator's ability to mass create and
update user accounts makes it the ideal migration companion instead of
traditional scripting solutions. The flexibility offered by our visual
scripting engine, but without requiring script development and maintenance,
makes User Management Resource Administrator far more attractive than any
migration solution on the market available today.

"Last summer we migrated our entire network from Windows NT to
Windows 2003 in 7 weeks, using Windows XP for the workstations. One last
job was left: In 2 days time, 300 colleagues and 3000 students would need
to access the network. This meant that the user accounts would have to
be created in Active Directory, put into the right OU and assigned to security
groups. 2 days later, before the deadline, User Management Resource Administrator
had succeeded in completely creating and configuring all user accounts
and resources."

Group memberships details

In most Active Directory environments, user accounts are structured into
Organizational Units to ease management using Group Policies, and they are
assigned to different security or distribution groups. Security groups are
used to assign priviliges to applications and files, while distribution groups
are primarily used in combination with Microsoft Exchange 2000 and 2003 to
supercede the distribution lists known from Exchange 5.5. Usually a user
account is member of multiple groups, for instance a common employees group
and a Students or Teachers group to assign priviliges to educational applications
and shared student files.

User Management Resource Administrator has the unique ability to handle
multiple group assignments in one single batch job, whether the input comes
directly from the CSV input file, or using information such as Location,
Department, Job type, Student class code or something
equivalent.
