User Management Resource Administrator: User Account Management for Windows 2003/XP/2000/NT

Generating random passwords

It is well known that a randomly generated password is more secure than a default one, but what about including ID information such as a social security number, and applying this to your Active Directory users in bulk? How do you keep track of all those generated passwords?

Solution – UMRA

UMRA has built in technology to generate random passwords ranging from normal to ultra strong, applies them to your Active Directory users, and creates a report so you are aware of any changes. Take control of your password conventions and:

  • Set password complexity ranging from normal to ultra strong
  • Add ID information to generated passwords
  • Export to CSV or database for reporting purposes
  • Optionally set "User must change password at next logon"

Choose your complexity setting by selecting options ranging from normal to ultra strong. UMRA also allows you to configure custom complexity rules by modifying settings such as minimum required lowercase characters. Use the test button to see a real-time generated preview.
