SpaceGuard SRM User Alerting Features

SpaceGuard SRM is a completely new product, built from the ground up for Windows 2003-XP-2000-NT environments. SpaceGuard SRM has all the features of SpaceGuard 4.2, and many significant enhancements and features, such as enhanced auto-add quotas, configurable disk quota policies, more notifications, unlimited disk quota levels, a brand-new interface and dramatic improvements in engine performance.

E-mail Messaging:

SpaceGuard SRM fully supports both SMTP and MAPI e-mail, this function allows network administrators to send e-mail notifications to end-users on the status of their quotas automatically via SpaceGuard SRM’s alarm action window.

With SpaceGuard SRM’s advanced Active Directory integration Exchange 2003 and 2000 e-mail addresses can be extracted from Active Directory. This gives network administrators the ability to fully customize quota policies without worrying about e-mail addresses.

Pop-Up Messaging:

SpaceGuard SRM supports the use of Pop-up messages through Windows Messenger. Pop-up alarms can be sent to either specific user screen names or computers. These pop-ups are a convenient way of notifying users on the status of their quota and can also be used to notify the system administrator on quota violations.

Pager/SMS Messaging:

SpaceGuard SRM supports the option to send pager or SMS messages to any compatible phone in the world. SpaceGuard SRM can be used by a wide range of international telecom providers to relay messages. Before sending pager/SMS alarms, the settings must be configured and verified within the SpaceGuard SRM service.

SmartQuota Technology: SpaceGuard SRM is SmartQuota enabled, which allows for rapid deployment and mass disk quota reconfiguration. Using SmartQuota technology, you can quickly add new quota limits to all existing quota's based on a percentage of the current limits, regardless of the type of quota limit (absolute, relative to disk/directory).
