SpaceGuard SRM Features Overview | | | Directory Quotas | | - Automatic home directory matching based on Active Directory
- Quota limits based on percentage of disk/directory size
- Configurable quota policies; make configuration templates for rapid deployment and propagation
- Directory based quotas
- Auto-Add quotas; the SpaceGuard SRM engine monitors the file system for changes and automatically applies the appropriate disk quota settings
| | | User Alerting | | - Custom delay and repetition
- Use quota related keywords to include quota details
- Include Active Directory user attributes in messages
- Pop-up messages
- E-mail (SMTP and Exchange MAPI)
- Pager and SMS alerting with built-in modem connection software
| | | Quota Enforcement | | - The engine can automatically revoke write access privileges for a user or a group of users when a limit has been reached or exceeded
- The revoke access alarm action can be used to deny write access to the quota’s directory for a single user or an entire group of users. When linked to a certain quota limit, SpaceGuard SRM will revoke the access rights by setting explicit “Deny” write in the directory’s ACL
| | | Beats Windows Quotas | | - Directory based quotas
- Multiple disk quota limits
- Pop-up and e-mail alerting
- Auto-add disk quotas
- Quota support for Windows NT
- Quota monitoring on FAT drives
| | | File Extension Blocking | | - Direct blocking of (custom) extensions. Blocks files before they reach your disk – mp3, wav, exe
- Prevent unwanted programs from being installed
- Prevent unwanted media from being stored
| | | Active Directory Integration | | - Saves time and configuration issues by automatically reading information from Active Directory. You can also include any Active Directory attribute in the notification, such as telephone number or address
- Uses Active Directory to determine a match between a users account and home directory, and uses this account for all notifications and enforcement actions.

SmartQuota
Technology:
SpaceGuard
SRM is SmartQuota enabled, which allows for rapid deployment
and mass disk quota reconfiguration.
Using SmartQuota technology, you can quickly add new quota limits
to all existing quota's based on a percentage of the current limits, regardless
of the type of quota limit (absolute, relative to disk/directory). SmartQuota technology
is completely transparent and automatically activated in SpaceGuard SRM. More
information on using SmartQuota technology
is available here. |
