SSRPM Roadmap This section describes the roadmap of the upcoming major releases of Self Service Reset Password Management. SSRPM Version 4.00, release at: Februari 9th, 2007 Vista - Windows Vista support:
Windows Vista comes with new logon software. Therefore, the new version of SSRPM will be enhanced to fully support Windows Vista. Multiplatform - UMRA Connector:
The new version of SSRPM will be able to integrate with other systems (like: Unix, Linux, Novell and more) with User Management Resource Administrator (UMRA).
UMRA delivers many out-of-the box network actions, database options and application integration. These actions can be evoked automatically throughout SSRPM. With this it is possible to integrate with any helpdesk system, update company databases with a reset request, dynamically create justification reports and so on. Tools4ever has many more UMRA projects available which smoothly integrate with SSRPM. Security - Enrollment management:
New features to be able to configure the user enrollment: - Force user enrollment: the user must enroll into SSRPM, in which case the SSRPM Enrollment Wizard cannot be cancelled and must be completed by each user.
- Scheduled user re-enrollment: the questions and answers will be renewed automatically, in which case users need to re-enroll into SSRPM.
- Minimum answer length:
A new option, which determines the least number of characters that an answer, which users specify when they enroll, must contain. - Operator security:
Extra security settings, to configure users which are allowed to monitor SSRPM, unblock users and un-enroll users with the SSRPM Admin Console. For instance to allow the helpdesk to unblock users with the SSRPM Admin Console. - Password policy enforcement:
SSRPM will provide additional password policy enforcement capabilities, knowingly: - Password history: determines the number of unique new passwords that have to be associated with a user account before an old password can be reused when a user resets his or her password.
- Minimum password age: when the period of time (in days) that a password must be used before the user can reset his or her password.
- Extra notification:
An extra feature to specify e-mail addressess per notification type (which are: user enrollment, account reset or account block). For instance if a user has enrolled or successfully reset his or her password the helpdesk will receive a notification e-mail and when a user fails several times to answer his or her questions correctly a notification e-mail will be send to the administrator. - Additional logging:
An extra feature which enables logging of the computer from which a user enrolls or resets. User Interface - Web Interface:
Full end-user web functionality, so that users can enroll and reset their passwords via a web browser. Therefore, SSRPM will be enhanced with a COM interface including example ASP pages and additional documentation. - Answer Confirmation Box:
A new option, which allows to enable an answer confirmation box in the SSRPM Enrollment Wizard. This prevents users from making typo's. Auditing - Additional columns with information on blocked users.
The SSRPM Admin Console will provide extra user information within the blocked users overview. SSRPM Version 5.00, release at: Q2/2007 SSRPM Database - Support for multiple databases:
A new feature to provide support for multiple databases, like: MS-SQL and MSDE, which is used to store all user questions and irreversible hashes of all user answers.
