I couldn't manage without Monitor Magic. We have some web mail software on one Web server. For some reason this webmail software causes my W3 Service to stop at least 4 times daily. With Monitor Magic I don't get calls from people angry that their web sites are down. Thank you Monitor Magic for being a great product. Michael P McDaniel Coupon Connection of America ...

Windows Server Monitoring and Trending
- How To Install?
To install a policy, download a policy by clicking
on the version link in the policy table below. Make sure
the file is saved to a .mpf file on your local hard disk.
Start the MonitorMagic client and select the "Local
Monitor Policies" branch in the "Policies" tab
of the network browse window. Navigate to the "Policy" menu
and click "Import policies...". Select the
downloaded policy file and click OK. The new policy is
now available in the MonitorMagic client policy tree.
Windows Server Monitoring and Trending - How To Configure?
1. Specify the email address where all notifications
should be sent to
Open the properties of the active MonitorMagic agent
hosting the Windows Server Monitoring and Trending policy.
This can be done by using the Control Center, then right-clicking
on the agent entry and choosing "Configure service...".
Go to the "Custom Keywords" tab and Add a new keyword.
The keyword name should be %SMTPALARM%, the value is
the actual email box you want to use to retrieve the
MonitorMagic notifications.
2. Configure a trending database for use with MonitorMagic
All applicable monitors are preset to store their result
data in a trending database. To use this policy, a database
must be configured and active on a MonitorMagic agent.
To do this, open the properties of the MonitorMagic agent
as described above and go to the "Advanced" tab. Choose
"Configure database...", then go to the "Manage database"
tab and click the "Create" button. Complete the database
creation wizard by choosing MS Access as database and
leave all other settings to their defaults.
Windows Server Monitoring and Trending - How To Run?
Within the MonitorMagic client, connect to a running
MonitorMagic service that has a pingable network connection
to the Oracle server. Drag-and-drop the Windows Server Monitoring and Trending
policy onto the open MonitorMagic service window to start
monitoring.
