Pro-active monitoring and management

The Windows Event log is stored locally on each computer and is therefore no consolidated source of status information. Windows itself has no method of replicating or sychronizing this information to a single, centrally available audit source. MonitorMagic features central or distributed storage of Windows Event Logs in a database and provides intelligent and dynamic reports for easy and quick centralized event log management.

Central Database Storage

• Central database storage for Windows event logs. When retrieving event logs, MonitorMagic always creates cache files on the local computer to ensure optimum data integrity. If, for example, the database connection fails due to a network outage, MonitorMagic will continuously try to reconnect to the database at regular intervals to store cached data, ensuring no event data is lost during the archive process
• Supports all event logs on Windows 2003, XP, 2000 and NT
• Storage support for Microsoft SQL Server 2000, MSDE and Access
