1. Starting
your Project
|
| Start User Management Resource Administrator
and open the example project, available for
download on the case
scenarios pages. When
the project has loaded, a 3-part window is
shown. The top of this window contains the
import data and is currently empty. The lower
left part contains all actions currently scheduled
for execution and the lower right part contains
all properties for each action on the left
side. |

2. Load Import Data |
|
When ready, right-click in the top of
the project window which is currently empty
and select the Import... option. Select your CSV file
and complete the import wizard. Your project
is now almost ready to run. |

3. Configure
Actions and Properties |

examine each property to make sure the entire
project fits your need. |

4. Select or import name generation
algorithm
|
 This
step is only applicable when creating users
or changing names |
To successfully create user accounts,
names such as the sAMAccountName (username),
User Principal Name, Common
Name and Display
Name are required. User Management
Resource Administrator supports multiple
methods of generating names such as the username,
fullname and possibly specific Exchange SMTP
e-mail address names. To use these custom
username methods, check if a .uga file was
bundled with your project. When this is the
case, browse your project and locate the
Create User action. In the properties list,
open the Name generation algorithm and
click Edit. In the following
dialog, click the Import button
and select the .uga file that came bundled
with your project.

5. Match
Import Data to Project
|
|
The final configuration step is to map
the information in the columns of the CSV file
to the actions in the project. Right-click
on the column that either contains your username
or fullname and select the appropriate keyword
from the list. Using right-click and Properties,
you can specify a custom keyword. In a script
action, use this keyword to make sure that
the action uses the value listed in the column
you selected. For instance, for the column
that contains the last name, right click
on the column header and select the %Lastname%
keyword. Note that the Create User (AD) action
is automatically preset to use the value
of the %Lastname% keyword to construct a
full name.

6. Test Run |
|
|
| NOTE: User Management Resource
Administrator is pre-configured to run in simulation
mode. You can safely run your project
using the other options, no actual
changes will be performed on your network,
Active Directory, file servers or Exchange
environment. |

From left to right:
- Test toggle: By default,
this switch is enabled so your project
always runs in simulation mode. Make
sure this switch is enabled before you
continue.
- Step: Run each line
individually. To continue to the next
line, click this button again for each
line.
- Run selection: Runs
only the lines that you have selected
in the input window. Use this to run
specific portions of your input to test
for different results.
- Run: Runs all lines
of the input data.
- Abort and Reset: Click
this button once to abort the current
job (when active), click again to reset
the state of the input data.
