Create new user accounts
|
| |
User Management Resource Administrator's ability to mass create and
update user accounts makes it the ideal migration companion instead of
traditional scripting solutions. The flexibility offered by our visual
scripting engine, but without requiring script development and maintenance,
makes User Management Resource Administrator far more attractive than any
migration solution on the market available today.

| "Without referring to a manual or on-line help, I was able to use the
program to create 599 user accounts, create home directories, and their
roaming profiles
with the proper security controls in minutes, a process that would have taken
days to do by hand." Jerry Shipman -

Create user details |
When creating new user accounts, you have complete control over all aspects
of the user in Active Directory, including all custom attributes and naming
conventions:
- Domain: You can specify in which domain the user account should be
created. This information does not have to be in the CSV file, but can
be defined as global variable in your project. As you can see, this has
been done in the above screenshot (Set the value of variable %Domain%
to....)
- Organizational-Unit-Container: Controls in which OU the user should
be created. This information can be defined statically for all user accounts,
but can also be mapped from location or department related input from
the CSV file.
- LDAP container: Specifies a direct LDAP path to the container where
the user account should be created. This value contains both the OU and
domain properties, making either of the above obsolete.
- Domain (controller): Controls which domain controller should be used
to perform the user creation and storage. This is important in multi-domain
controller environments where synchronization and remote sites are part
of the environment.
- Name generation algorithm: Defines how various Active
Directory requires names should be generated based on CSV input. The
AD requires the sAMAccountName,
the UPN prefix, commonName and the displayName to be specified. You can
easily generate these names using advanced formatting functions and duplicate
handling. Learn more...
- GivenName, Initials and SurName are properties that usually are directly
mapped onto columns of the input CSV file. Be careful with the Initials
attribute since this field only allows for 6 characters maximum string
length.
- Password generator: Controls the generation of random
passwords based on pre-configured schemes, which define how many different
types of characters
should be included. These passwords can be exported to a new CSV file
along with the username or displayname. Learn
more...
- Password: Sets a default password or you can use the result of the
password generator using the %Password% variable.
- Additional attributes: Description, User profile,
Logon script, Home directory, Home directory drive, Account expiration,
Workstations, All account control settings, General, Address, Phone and
Organization attributes.
