Tools4ever, the market leader in solutions for Identity & Access Management (IdM), has developed a connector for the cloud based e-procurement and expense management application, COUPA. The COUPA connector is designed to provision or de-provision user accounts utilizing COUPA’s web service API in conjunction with the User Management Resource Administrator’s (UMRA) PowerShell service. While its core functionality creates an account with the standard input of first name, last name, username, and password, the connector also maps users to the appropriate COUPA department and manager based on their respective Active Directory settings. In addition, the connector can control the assignment of elevated permissions to user accounts, if specified. In the event that access needs to be revoked, the UMRA / COUPA connector is also capable of disabling the account in order to ensure the integrity and security of the system.
LifeStyle Hearing Corporation is one of the first companies to have implemented this connector. Before using UMRA with the COUPA connector, Lifestyle Hearing had to manually create accounts for all of their employees which took numerous hours to track down all the correct information and ensure that credentials were correct for positions such as doctors. UMRA completely eliminated the account creation process from IT and it is now handled entirely through the human resources department which can with one click create an account for the user in COUPA, Active Directory and other applications.
